Each student who studies abroad with SYA has a faculty advisor responsible for maintaining contact with parents and home school counselors. In early October the advisor sends a first letter home. Then, after the first, second and fourth marking periods the advisor sends grades and a progress report to the parents, with a copy to the home high school. A personal letter will accompany the third quarter grades only if there are special concerns. SYA also sends reports, college testing results and a final transcript to the home school college counseling office.
While we have established this schedule of correspondence to assure regular contact with adults back home, we urge parents to call or write us whenever questions arise. If you have any questions on the process, please do not hesitate to contact us at sya.admissions@sya.org.
