Unlike other study abroad programs for high school students, School Year Abroad is designed for high school students to receive academic credit for their year studying abroad. SYA runs its own schools, hand selecting faculty and controlling the unique and challenging curriculum of each site that include requisite core courses such as English and math. As a result, students return to their home schools ready to matriculate to college with the class that they entered in as Freshman.
